ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the distribution characteristics and functional genes of cariogenic bacteria in oral microorganisms of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to improve the understanding of the relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and dental caries.@*Methods@#The experimental group included 10 patients with type 2 diabetes treated in the Department of Endocrinology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University. The normal control group included healthy oral subjects without type 2 diabetes in the community population (10 cases). Samples of supragingival plaque from patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and normal controls were collected and sequenced. Bioinformatics and statistical analysis of cariogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus, Actinomyces viscosus and Candida albicans were carried out.@*Results@#There were slightly fewer cariogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus, Actinomyces viscosus and Candida albicans in supragingival plaque samples of type 2 diabetic patients than in normal controls, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The results of KEGG pathway functional metabolic differences showed that the metabolic pathways of D-arginine and D-ornithine metabolism, biofilm formation-Escherichia coli, carolactam degradation and arginine biosynthesis were more abundant in the T2DM group than in the normal control group, while metabolic pathways such as tyrosine metabolism, selenocompound metabolism and pyruvate metabolism showed the opposite trend. @*Conclusion @#There was no significant difference in the content of cariogenic microorganisms between type 2 diabetic patients and normal control group. The differential metabolic pathways of the functional genes indicated that an increase in the arginine metabolic pathway was beneficial to the maintenance of acid-base balance in the oral microecological environment.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Meniscal injury is a common condition that can lead to disability due to pain and proprioceptive failure, requiring immediate attention. Combination therapies involve advanced approaches aiming to accelerate rehabilitation in athletes, and electroacupuncture presents therapeutic benefits, although there is still no evidence of its combination with sports therapy. Objective: This paper analyzes the performance of sports rehabilitation in athletes with meniscal lesions using electroacupuncture combined with sports therapy. Methods: The intervention in the control group was based on a traditional range of motion work, muscle strength, proprioceptive training, and other exercise therapies, while the experimental group received a 30 min electro-acupuncture protocol three times a week for four consecutive weeks. The surrogate data (gender, age, disease course, location) are the same. Before treatment, joint activity, muscle strength, total joint scale score of the LYSHOLM questionnaire, and other observational indices were measured during the 6th and 12th week of treatment. The non-parametric statistical method and T-test were used to analyze the changes of each index before and after treatment. After 12 weeks of treatment, the difference between the experimental group and the combination before treatment was significant. Results: The treatment effect of the experimental group was significantly better than the control group. Conclusion: The effect of sports rehabilitation of athletes with meniscus injury based on electroacupuncture combined with sports therapy showed high resolutive application value, indicating an alternative for non-surgical treatment in knee meniscus injuries. RESUMO Introdução: A lesão meniscal é um acometimento comum que pode gerar incapacitação por dor e falha proprioceptiva, exigindo atenção imediata. Terapias combinadas envolvem abordagens avançadas com o objetivo de acelerar a reabilitação nos atletas, e a eletroacupuntura apresenta benefícios terapêuticos, embora ainda não possua evidencias de sua combinação com a terapia esportiva. Objetivo: Analisar o desempenho da reabilitação esportiva em atletas com lesão meniscal utilizando eletroacupuntura combinada à terapia esportiva. Métodos: A intervenção no grupo controle baseou-se no trabalho tradicional de amplitude de movimento, força muscular, treinamento proprioceptivo e outros tipos de terapias de exercício enquanto que ao grupo experimental foi adicionado um protocolo de eletro-acupuntura de 30 minutos de duração, 3 vezes por semana durante 4 semanas consecutivas. Os dados de substituição (sexo, idade, curso de doença, localização) são basicamente os mesmos. Antes do tratamento, a atividade articular, a força muscular, o escore total da escala articular do questionário LYSHOLM e outros índices de observação foram medidos na 6ª e 12ª semana do tratamento. O método estatístico não paramétrico e teste-T foram utilizados para analisar as alterações de cada índice antes e depois do tratamento. Após 12 semanas de tratamento, a diferença entre o grupo experimental e a combinação antes do tratamento foi significativa. Resultados: O efeito de tratamento do grupo experimental foi significativamente melhor do que o grupo controle. Conclusão: O efeito de reabilitação esportiva de atletas com lesão meniscal baseada em eletroacupuntura combinada à terapia esportiva demonstrou alto valor de aplicação resolutiva, indicada como alternativa para o tratamento não cirúrgico em lesões no menisco do joelho. Resumen Introducción: La lesión meniscal es una lesión común que puede causar incapacidad por dolor y fallo propioceptivo, requiriendo atención inmediata. Las terapias combinadas implican enfoques avanzados con el objetivo de acelerar la rehabilitación en los deportistas, y la electroacupuntura presenta beneficios terapéuticos, aunque todavía no hay pruebas de su combinación con la terapia deportiva. Objetivo: Analizar el rendimiento de la rehabilitación deportiva en atletas con lesión meniscal utilizando electroacupuntura combinada con la terapia deportiva. Métodos: La intervención en el grupo de control se basó en el trabajo tradicional de amplitud de movimiento, fuerza muscular, entrenamiento propioceptivo y otros tipos de terapias de ejercicio, mientras que al grupo experimental se le añadió un protocolo de electroacupuntura de 30 minutos de duración, 3 veces a la semana durante 4 semanas consecutivas. Los datos sustitutivos (sexo, edad, evolución de la enfermedad, localización) son básicamente los mismos. Antes del tratamiento, se midieron la actividad articular, la fuerza muscular, la puntuación total de la escala articular del cuestionario LYSHOLM y otros índices de observación en la 6ª y 12ª semana de tratamiento. Se utilizó el método estadístico no paramétrico y la prueba T para analizar los cambios de cada índice antes y después del tratamiento. Tras 12 semanas de tratamiento, la diferencia entre el grupo experimental y la combinación antes del tratamiento era significativa. Resultados: El efecto del tratamiento del grupo experimental fue significativamente mejor que el del grupo de control. Conclusión: El efecto de la rehabilitación deportiva de atletas con lesión de menisco basada en la electroacupuntura combinada con la terapia deportiva mostró un alto valor de aplicación resolutiva, indicada como alternativa de tratamiento no quirúrgico en las lesiones de menisco de rodilla. Nivel de evidencia II; Estudios terapéuticos - investigación de los resultados del tratamiento.

ABSTRACT Introduction: It is common for athletes to have accidental injuries in training. Sports injuries damage the health of athletes, dampen their enthusiasm, and affect their normal life and training. Objective: To explore preventive measures against athletes' sports injuries by understanding their sports injuries. Methods: We used the literature data method, a questionnaire, an interview, and mathematical statistics to determine the cause of sports injury accidents of athletes. Results: The locations of sports injuries were fingers, ankle and knee joints, lower back, thighs, etc. Common types of injuries were joint sprains, muscle strains, and soft tissue injuries. Conclusion: Scientific physical training can prevent sports injuries and effectively reduce injuries and accidents caused by sports. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment results.


RESUMO Introdução: Não é raro que atletas tenham ferimentos acidentais em seus treinamentos. Lesões esportivas causam danos à saúde dos atletas e reduzem seu entusiasmo, afetando suas vidas normais e seu treino. Objetivo: Explorar medidas preventivas contra lesões esportivas para compreender como tais ferimentos ocorrem. Métodos: Este trabalho utilizou pesquisa bibliográfica, questionário, entrevista, e cálculo estatístico matemático para determinar a causa das lesões esportivas acidentais de atletas. Resultados: As lesões esportivas ocorreram em dedos, articulações de tornozelo e joelho, região lombar, coxas e etc. Tipos comuns de lesão incluíram torção de articulações, estiramento muscular, e feridas em tecidos moles. Conclusão: O treino físico com base científica pode prevenir lesões esportivas e efetivamente reduzir os ferimentos e acidentes causados pelo esporte. Nível de evidência II; Estudos terapêuticos - investigação de resultados de tratamento.


RESUMEN Introducción: No es raro que los deportistas sufran lesiones accidentales en sus entrenamientos. Lesiones deportivas causan daños a la salud de los atletas y reducen su entusiasmo, afectando sus vidas normales y su entrenamiento. Objetivo: Explorar medidas preventivas contra lesiones deportivas para comprender cómo tales heridas ocurren. Métodos: Este trabajo utilizó investigación bibliográfica, cuestionario, entrevista y cálculo estadístico matemático pata determinar la causa de las lesiones deportivas accidentales de atletas. Resultados: Las lesiones deportivas ocurrieron en los dedos, articulaciones de los tobillos y rodillas, región lumbar, muslos, etc. Entre los tipos de lesiones más comunes se encuentran los esguinces articulares, las distensiones musculares y las heridas en los tejidos blandos. Conclusión: El entrenamiento físico con base científica puede prevenir lesiones deportivas y efectivamente reducir las heridas y accidentes causados por el deporte. ABSTRACT

Objective@#Metagenomic sequencing was used to explore the species composition and internal functional metabolic pathway of saliva and supragingival plaque microbial communities in healthy adults to provide a theoretical reference for the biological prevention and treatment of oral diseases.@*Methods@#Saliva and supragingival plaque samples were collected from healthy adults, total DNA was extracted, and a metagenomic library was constructed. The qualified library was sequenced via metagenomics, and the sequencing data were analyzed using bioinformatics and statistics. @*Results @#The main bacterial phyla in healthy oral samples were Proteobacteria (32.51%), Bacteroidetes (30.81%), and Actinobacteria (16.23%), and the main bacterial species were Corynebacterium matruchotii (3.84%), Haemophilus parainfluenzae (2.91%), and Prevotella melaninogenica (2.76%). The alpha diversity of the supragingival plaque group was higher than that of the saliva group, and there was a significant difference in the composition of the microbial community between the two groups (P<0.05). At the species level, Prevotella melaninogenica, Fusobacterium periodonticum, and Prevotella intermedia were more abundant in saliva samples than in supragingival plaque samples, while Corynebacterium matruchotii, Propionibacterium acidifaciens, and Rothia dentocariosa were more abundant in supragingival plaque samples than in saliva samples (P<0.05). High-quality gene sets of saliva and supragingival plaque in healthy adults were constructed based on metagenomic sequencing. The results of KEGG pathway functional metabolic differences showed that starch and sucrose metabolism, leucine and isoleucine degradation, and arginine biosynthesis in salivary microorganisms were more abundant than in supragingival plaque, while glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and carbon metabolism in supragingival plaque were more abundant than in saliva.@* Conclusion@#There are significant differences in the species composition and functional gene metabolic pathways of saliva and supragingival plaque microecology in healthy adults. The sensitivity of dominant species in different microecological regions to the identification of oral diseases may be different. In the microbiological study of oral diseases, appropriate samples should be selected according to different diseases.

@#Minimally invasive endodontics (MIE) can preserve dental tissue to a greater extent and improve the success rate of endodontics and has thus attracted increasing attention. 3D printing is a technology that is based on a digital model and uses powdered metal, plastic and other materials to construct objects by printing layer by layer. This article reviews the application of 3D printing technology in minimally invasive endodontics to provide a reference for the application of 3D printing technology in clinical minimally invasive endodontics in the future. In recent years, 3D printing technology has been widely used in various professional fields of stomatology, such as maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, and orthodontics. Using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and oral scanners to obtain accurate data on the internal and external structures of teeth combined with 3D printing to construct a tooth diagnostic model and pulp opening guide plate, we can accurately locate the position of the root canal and provide a new method for minimally invasive endodontics. At present, 3D printing technology is mainly used to guide the pulp opening pathway, assist in the minimally invasive treatment of malformed teeth and calcified root canals, and assist with apical surgery in the field of minimally invasive endodontics. However, its accuracy and clinical prognosis still need to be verified with a large number of clinical cases.
